Database Description: Aerospace Database is a bibliographic and abstract reference of two print publications: International Aerospace Abstracts (IAA) and Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR). It is a comprehensive engineering and technology information resource providing worldwide bibliographic coverage of published and unpublished scientific and technical literature. Over 1,600 periodicals from worldwide sources are scanned, with over 50% originating outside the U.S. Summary abstracts are provided for 95% of the records. AIAA Aerospace Database provides bibliographic coverage of basic and applied research in aeronautics, astronautics, and space sciences. The database also covers technology development and applications in complimentary and supporting fields such as chemistry, geosciences, physics, communications, and electronics. In addition to periodic literature, the database also includes coverage of reports issued by NASA, other U.S. government agencies, international institutions, universities, and private firms. The nonprofit American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the principal society and voice serving the aerospace profession. Its primary purpose is to advance the arts, sciences, and technology of aeronautics and astronautics and to foster and promote the professionalism of those engaged in thee pursuits.

Database Description: AMERICAN: HISTORY AND LIFE is a complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Published since 1964, the database comprises almost 400,000 bibliographic entries. The extensive database covers over 2,000 journals published worldwide. In addition to covering all key English-language historical journals, American: History and Life coverage includes selected historical journals from major countries, state and local history journals, and a targeted selection of hundreds of journals in the social sciences and humanities journals. Over 90% of the articles included are published in English-language journals. In addition to articles, each year America: History and Life includes approximately 6,000 citations of book and media reviews from a selection of over one hundred key journals in US and Canadian history and related fields. It is considered one of the most important research tools in anthropology. Database Description: Cross-Culture CD contains full-text information drawn from the Human Relations Area File (HRAF) Archives, a microfiche collection of excerpts from ethnographic sources in anthropology, sociology and psychology on over 300 societies around the world. Cross-Cultural CD provides information from more than 500 books, articles, dissertations, and unpublished manuscripts on 60 of those societies in the 19^th and 20^th centuries. The information is organized into ten topical databases with two databases on each CD disk/volume: Human Sexuality and Marriage; Family and Crime & Social Problems; Old Age and Death & Dying; Childhood & Adolescence and Socialization & Education; and Religious Beliefs (in 1995) and Religious Practices (in 1995).

Database Description: This database is a digital library of dissertations and theses from Wichita State University. It is possible to search citations and abstracts of WSU dissertations and download the full-text of dissertations published after 1996. Theses are now available as well. Coverage for theses started with 36 from 2004 as part of a grant and then starting in the Fall of 2005, all theses will be available. There seems to be a one year lag time from submission to availability.

Database Description: This database electronically reproduces the full text of abstracts published since July 1980. It includes both current abstracts and UMI�s entire dissertation database dating back to 1861. Master thesis abstracts are available since 1988. The database selectively covers masters theses and doctoral dissertations from institutions in North America and Europe. As with the printed issues, the online service provides author-prepared summaries approximately 350 words in length, which describe the original research project.

Database Description: EconLit is a comprehensive, indexed bibliography with selected abstracts of the world's economic literature, produced by the American Economic Association. It included coverage of over 400 major journals as well as articles in collective volumes (essays, proceedings, etc.), books, book reviews, dissertations, and working papers licensed from the Cambridge University Press Abstracts of Working Papers in Economics. Over 99% of the articles are in English or include English summaries. Records in EconLit contain basic bibliographic data plus subject and geographic descriptors. Abstracts are included for some records added to the database starting in 1987.

Database Description: Ergonomics Abstracts forms a unique resource, providing coverage across the whole range of ergonomics, human factors, and related literature. The print source for Ergonomics Abstracts is the international journal Ergonomics Abstracts which has been in publication since 1968. The material is selected from relevant journals, conference proceedings, reports and books. The second issue of Ergonomics Abstracts contains all records, over 45,000, published by the journal Ergonomics Abstracts between 1986 and 1995.

Database Description: First Search, from OCLC, is a set of more than 55 databases. This authorizations allows WSU faculty and staff to access all of the FirstSearch database that are available on a "per-search" basis. The databases include WorldCat, which is made up of the catalogs of major libraries around the library and Kansas, ArticleFirst, which describes articles from the tables of contents of about 11,000 journals, and ContentsFirst, which lists tables of contents from those 11,000 journals. First Search also contains a number of subject databases such as BIOSIS, ERIC, and PAIS.
