Description: Aerospace Database is a bibliographic and abstract reference of two print publications: International Aerospace Abstracts (IAA) and Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR). It is a comprehensive engineering and technology information resource providing worldwide bibliographic coverage of published and unpublished scientific and technical literature. Over 1,600 periodicals from worldwide sources are scanned, with over 50% originating outside the U.S. Summary abstracts are provided for 95% of the records. AIAA Aerospace Database provides bibliographic coverage of basic and applied research in aeronautics, astronautics, and space sciences. The database also covers technology development and applications in complimentary and supporting fields such as chemistry, geosciences, physics, communications, and electronics. In addition to periodic literature, the database also includes coverage of reports issued by NASA, other U.S. government agencies, international institutions, universities, and private firms. Description: There is the full-text of AIAA meeting papers from 1996 to the present.  AIAA provides a search interface.  Use Aerospace Database for full indexing of AIAA papers.  The library=s collection of AIAA papers is available in the Reserve Area on the first floor for the years 1971 to the present (Microfiche 2436).  They are arranged by paper number with the first two digits being the year of publication.  The collection is complete from 1986 to the present.  Selected papers are available for 1971-1985.  Do a title search in the Online Catalog for AIAA papers for the library holdings for those years.

Database Description: EI CompendexWeb is the Internet-based version of the COMPuterized ENgineering InDEX database. It identifies engineering research articles and papers from over 1,500 journals and 600 conference proceedings each year. Use it to search the engineering literature by keyword, subject, author, journal or conference, year, etc. Sets of records with abstracts are generated which can be displayed, downloaded, printed, and analyzed for content. To locate the full document, check for availability by their Source (or parent document) publication title in the Voyager library catalog. Some items may be found at the WSU Ablah Library. Cross-Cultural CD provides information from more than 500 books, articles, dissertations, and unpublished manuscripts on 60 of those societies in the 19th and 20th centuries. Database Description: This database is a digital library of dissertations and theses from Wichita State University. It is possible to search citations and abstracts of WSU dissertations and download the full-text of dissertations published after 1996.  Theses are now available as well.  Coverage for theses started with 36 from 2004 as part of a grant and then starting in the Fall of 2005, all theses will be available. There seems to be a one year lag time from submission to availability.

Database Description: EconLit is a comprehensive, indexed bibliography with selected abstracts of the world's economic literature, produced by the American Economic Association. It included coverage of over 400 major journals as well as articles in collective volumes (essays, proceedings, etc.), books, book reviews, dissertations, and working papers licensed from the Cambridge University Press Abstracts of Working Papers in Economics. Over 99% of the articles are in English or include English summaries. Records in EconLit contain basic bibliographic data plus subject and geographic descriptors. ription:  The CSA version of  the ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database provides indexing and abstracting of 1) articles published in over 1000 professional journals and 2) thousands of unpublished research reports (called "ERIC documents") which are produced on microfiche. The WSU Library maintains the complete microfiche collection, and subscribes to many of the journals. ERIC documents are also available through an online service called E*Subscribe, and the CSA version of ERIC provides a direct link from the document citation in ERIC to documents from 1996 to the present  in E*Subscribe. ERIC also includes the full text of over 850 ERIC Digests. ERIC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, and is a network of 16 Clearinghouses, each of which specializes in a different subject area.

Database Description: 
The FirstSearch version of  the ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database from OCLC provides indexing and abstracting of 1) articles published in over 1000 professional journals and 2) thousands of unpublished research reports (called "ERIC documents") which are produced on microfiche. The WSU Library maintains the complete microfiche collection, and subscribes to many of the journals. ERIC documents are also available through an online service called E*Subscribe, and the FirstSearch version of ERIC provides a direct link from the document citation in ERIC to documents from 1996 to the present in E*Subscribe. ERIC also includes the full text of over 850 ERIC Digests. ERIC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, and is a network of 16 Clearinghouses, each of which specializes in a different subject area.

Database Description: First Search, from OCLC, is a set of more than 55 databases. This authorizations allows WSU faculty and staff to access all of the FirstSearch database that are available on a "per-search" basis. The databases include WorldCat, which is made up of the catalogs of major libraries around the library and Kansas, ArticleFirst, which describes articles from the tables of contents of about 11,000 journals, and ContentsFirst, which lists tables of contents from those 11,000 journals. First Search also contains a number of subject databases such as BIOSIS, ERIC, and PAIS.
